The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) in Kenya has created a comprehensive salary structure for all teachers, outlined in the 2021-2025 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). TSC categorizes salaries based on teaching level and job grade, ensuring fair compensation across different teaching positions.
Primary School Teachers:
- Grade B5: Entry-level primary school teachers earn between Ksh 21,756 and Ksh 27,195 per month.
- Grade C1: Promoted primary school teachers receive a salary ranging from Ksh 27,195 to Ksh 33,994 monthly.
Secondary School Teachers:
- Grade C2: Teachers holding a Bachelor’s degree in education earn between Ksh 34,955 and Ksh 43,694 monthly.
- Grade C3: Senior secondary school teachers have a salary range of Ksh 43,154 to Ksh 53,940 per month.
Higher Positions:
- Grade D4: Teachers in this grade earn between Ksh 118,242 and Ksh 141,891 monthly.
- Grade D5: Chief principals, the highest earners, receive between Ksh 131,380 and Ksh 157,656 per month.
