TSC: Beware Fake Certificate Registration Links.
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) in Kenya has warned all teachers about fraudulent schemes related to fake links for teacher registration certificates. TSC, the entity responsible for overseeing teacher affairs and certification in Kenya, has expressed deep concerns about the increasing number of deceptive online platforms claiming to provide official teacher registration certificates.
The Commission has emphasized its exclusive role in issuing valid teacher registration certificates and strongly advises against considering other sources as trustworthy. This warning responds to the troubling proliferation of websites that create unauthorized links, leading unsuspecting teachers to fall for deceptive online registration procedures.
Recently, a worrying trend has emerged where fraudsters set up fake websites and links that promise teachers official registration certificates in exchange for personal information and, often, financial gain. These deceptive schemes not only put teachers at risk of identity theft and financial loss but also undermine the integrity of the teacher certification process.
As part of its efforts to protect teachers and the integrity of the teacher certification system, the TSC has laid out some essential guidelines for teachers seeking registration:
Guidelines for Registration
Complete All Sections:
When filling out the registration application, it is crucial to ensure all sections are filled in completely. Incomplete applications may result in delays or rejection.
Provide Required Information:
Accurately providing all necessary information is essential for a successful registration process. Double-check all details before applying to avoid errors.
It is important to note that this information must be truthful. Providing false information to the Teachers Service Commission is a serious offense, as stipulated under Section 44 of TSC Act No. 20 of 2012. It can result in potential fines of up to Ksh 100,000, imprisonment for up to twelve (12) months, or both.
Save and Continue:
To make the registration process more convenient, the system allows you to save part of the registration form and return to it later to complete it at your own pace.

Document Upload:
When scanning and attaching documents, ensure you follow these guidelines:
- Use only original documents for scanning and uploading.
- Expatriate teachers should attach a Ministry of Education Vetting Committee clearance letter.
Application Fee for New Registration:
New teacher registrations require a non-refundable fee of Kshs. 1,050, payable through E-Citizen government payment methods (MPesa, Airtel Money, KCB Cash, Equity Cash, or E-Agent) before submitting your application.
Application Fee for Duplicate Certificate:
If you are applying for a duplicate certificate, a non-refundable fee of Kshs. 2,050 is applicable and should also be paid through E-Citizen government payment methods (MPesa, Airtel Money, KCB Cash, Equity Cash, or E-Agent) before submitting your application.
Adhering to these guidelines can streamline the registration process, ensuring accuracy and completeness. The transition to a fully digital application process improves efficiency and reduces the risk of errors and delays.
Teachers are strongly advised to avoid suspicious links or websites promising quick and easy registration. Falling for these fraudulent schemes can have severe consequences, both financially and in terms of personal security.
