TSC Announces Appeal Process for Terminated Teacher Interns.
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has unveiled a review process for teacher interns whose contracts were terminated due to desertion of duties. This decision comes after numerous inquiries about the status of these appeals.
Appeal Rights and Submission Guidelines
In an internal memo (Reference: TSC/DHRM&D/MEMO/14) issued on June 25, 2024, the TSC outlined essential details:
- Right to Appeal: Interns whose contracts were terminated can request a review of the Commission’s decision under section 46 of the TSC Act.
- Submission Deadline: Affected interns must submit their review applications to their respective County Directors with all supporting documents by July 10, 2024.
- Hearing Panels: County Directors will form hearing panels with at least three officers to assess applications and make recommendations based on each case’s merits.

Focus on Fairness and Transparency
E. J. Mitei, the Acting Director of HRM&D at TSC, stressed the importance of a fair, efficient, and transparent review process. Regional Directors are encouraged to collaborate closely with County Directors to ensure a seamless execution of the process. The TSC aims to conclude the review process by July 15, 2024.
