MoE Rejects Redistribution Reports with a Focus on Subject Combination.
The Ministry of Education denies reports claiming that there will be a teacher redistribution exercise using the new system.
The Ministry first unveiled a new classification scheme that divided schools into three groups: STEM centers (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), creative arts and sports schools, and humanities and arts schools.
The focus post however, specifies that national schools reorganization will include STEM hubs, and the other county schools as centers for sports and the creative arts.
The fabricated post also claimed that county schools would become Humanities and Arts Schools.
That contains inaccurate information. “Ignore the unwanted insinuations,” declared the Ministry of Education.
As a result, many Kenyans took to social media questioning the claims’ accuracy; the Ministry replied by offering an explanation.
According to the Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang, the government will put a stop to the national classification of schools soon.
At the annual symposium on competency-based assessment, Kipsang declared that the ministry would eliminate the classification of schools as national, extra-county, county, and sub-county.
According to the PS, the key criterion for defining an institution would be its infrastructure, with the combination of topics offered serving as a means of identifying senior schools.
The sub-county governments are ready to provide a range of courses, but STEM subjects will be available in national schools because they have better facilities.
