KUCCPS 2024: A Guide for KCSE Students to Check University and TVET Placement Results.
On Tuesday, May 21st, a significant announcement by CEO Agnes Wahome marked the release of the 2024 university and TVET placement results by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS). This eagerly anticipated event revealed the academic paths for the 2023 KCSE students, with 134,743 students securing placements in various degree programs at public universities. Additionally, over 18,000 students have received placement in degree programs at private universities.
Wahome noted a notable trend: a higher percentage of male candidates from the 2023 KCSE cohort opted for university degree programs, whereas more female candidates applied for courses at TVET institutions. Of the candidates who scored C+ and above, a significant 85 percent applied for placements. Among these, 76.2 percent chose degree programs, while 11,991 students selected diploma courses.
The Bachelor of Education program emerged as the most popular choice among applicants. The trend of male dominance in degree program placements has continued, a pattern that has been evident since the inception of the central placement system.
