How to Apply for an Inter-University Course Transfer via the KUCCPS Portal.
The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) portal is now open for Inter-Institutional Transfer (IIT) applications. This opportunity allows students placed in universities and colleges during the 2024–2025 cycle to request a transfer to a different institution or change their course of study. The deadline for these applications is July 4th.
To begin the transfer process, follow these steps:
- Login to the Student Portal: Visit [students.kuccps.net](https://students.kuccps.net) and log in using your credentials.
- Access the Transfer Application: After logging in, navigate to the dashboard and select the “Transfer Application” tab.
- Enter Transfer Details: Input the course code and the institution code where you wish to transfer. Specify the reason for your transfer request.
- Make the Payment: Follow the instructions to complete a Sh1,000 payment. Details for the payment process are provided below.
- Submit Payment Reference Code: Use the eCitizen Payment Reference Code to finalize your application.
- Monitor Application Status: Track the status of your application via the Student’s Portal. Both the releasing and receiving institutions need to approve your application.
Important Notes from KUCCPS
If the receiving institution rejects your transfer request, you will be informed through the portal and can either try a different program at the same institution or choose another institution.
KUCCPS will oversee the entire process once both institutions endorse the transfer.
Upon approval by KUCCPS, you will need to download, print, and send a copy of the transfer letter to your new institution. This institution will then provide an admission letter and additional joining instructions.

Payment Procedure
- Initiate Payment: Upon submitting your application, an online form will appear with a “Click Here to Pay” link. Click the link to access the eCitizen payment details.
- Choose Payment Method: Select your preferred payment method from the available options.
- Complete M-PESA Payment: Click to display M-PESA payment details, which include the business number (222222) and the required amount. Use the M-PESA menu on your phone, enter your M-PESA PIN, and send the payment.
- Enter Payment Reference Code: After completing the payment, input the eCitizen Payment Reference Code in the designated field and click “Submit”. Remember, you will need this code for any application modifications.
- Finalize Submission: Complete the submission by entering your password on the KUCCPS Student’s Portal.
Monitoring Your Application
Once your application is submitted, a flow chart will be displayed on the application page, allowing you to track its progress. Make sure to follow up regularly to ensure all endorsements are received.
