Fresh Training for JSS Teachers.
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is set to initiate a training program targeting junior secondary school teachers, which is slated to commence in the upcoming month. The primary objective of this training program will be to provide a comprehensive understanding of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) and Competency-Based Assessment (CBA).
According to a circular dated September 26, addressed to TSC Regional and County Directors, the Commission has identified instructors of language, science, mathematics, humanities, and technical disciplines for the training.
The training sessions are scheduled at Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) and designated county sites from the 9th to the 13th of October this year.
It is noteworthy that Master Trainers from many educational institutions will participate in a training program scheduled from the 2nd to the 4th of October at the Kenya Institute of Special Education. The Master Trainers will subsequently provide training to Trainer of Trainers (TOTs), which will encompass Curriculum Support Officers (CSOs), Teacher Educators, TSC Sub-county directors, and Ministry of Education quality assurance officers. The training for the TOTs will take place from the 6th to the 7th of October at Teacher Training Colleges and selected county venues.
