Education CS Warns of Expulsion for Exam Malpractices and Ensures Credible National Exams.
Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba has sent a strong warning to those in the education sector. He announced strict measures to prevent exam irregularities and vowed that those involved in cheating would face severe consequences, including expulsion. Speaking at Siala Technical and Vocational Training Center in Rongo, he also highlighted the government’s commitment to delivering credible national examinations. These efforts come amid ongoing challenges in the education system.
During a tree-planting event at the Siala Technical and Vocational Training Center, Ogamba shared his confidence in the security measures the government implemented for this year’s national examinations. He highlighted that the government introduced advanced technology to safeguard the process and prevent exam malpractices. “Anyone caught in exam cheating will face serious penalties, including a ban from working in the education sector,” Ogamba firmly stated. In addition, he called on all education stakeholders to support the government’s efforts in ensuring fair and transparent exams.

Ogamba’s warning extended beyond just the examination itself. In addition, he cautioned any officers, teachers, or individuals in the sector who might be tempted to participate in unethical practices. His message was clear—exam malpractice would no longer be tolerated, and the consequences would be severe for offenders.
Ogamba also addressed the broader issues facing the education system, acknowledging the challenges that have hampered its progress. He criticized individuals within the sector who have focused on negative aspects instead of helping the ministry overcome obstacles. He stressed that every person in the country has a role to play in strengthening the education system and that these efforts should be for the benefit of learners.

The Cabinet Secretary reassured the public that the ministry remains committed to ensuring smooth learning activities, especially for Grade Nine students next year. He mentioned that the construction of new classrooms continues, and the ministry is taking additional measures to prevent any disruptions to the upcoming school year.
