TVET Induction Workshop for New TVEA Board of Directors.
Dr. Esther Muoria, the Principal Secretary of the State Department for TVET, inaugurated the induction workshop for the new members of the TVET Authority Board of Directors. The five new members are Mr. Hassan Sumba, Dr. Keter Julius Kipkogei, Eng. Dr Edward Odhong, Mrs. Njambi Muchane, and Mr Benson Kinyua Muriithi (representing PS TVET). The existing members include the Board Chairperson Prof. Florence Indede, Dr Esther Gacicio, and Ms Winnie Mwalimu (representing PS Treasury).
Dr. Muoria commended the new appointees for joining the Board after a rigorous recruitment process. She also thanked the outgoing members for their significant contributions to the Authority’s success during their tenure.
Emphasizing the critical role of the TVET sector in unlocking the potential of Kenyan youth and driving national development, Dr. Muoria expressed confidence in the new board’s capabilities. She challenged them to enhance the Authority’s standards to uphold quality and relevance in training.

Prof. Florence Indede, the TVET Authority Chairperson, expressed gratitude to Dr. Muoria for opening the induction workshop, highlighting her consistent support for the Authority’s initiatives. She welcomed the new members and emphasized the workshop’s role in strengthening the relationship between the Board and senior management.
Dr. Kipkirui Langat, the TVETA Director General and CEO, also appreciated Dr. Muoria’s presence at the workshop and the continuous support from the ministry. He acknowledged the milestones achieved under this support and stressed the collaborative effort needed to regulate and coordinate the vital TVET sector.
The induction workshop, spanning four days, aims to equip the new Board members and senior management with the necessary skills for effective governance and operational excellence within the TVET sector.
