Tragedy Strikes as JSS Teacher Commits Suicide.
Tragedy struck the Ndaraweta area in Bomet County when a 33-year-old Junior Secondary School (JSS) teacher, Bernard Langat, reportedly took his own life outside the rental room where his partner resides. This heartbreaking event has left the community in a somber mood as they come to terms with the loss of a beloved educator.
Assistant chief John Tanui, from the area, shared details of the incident, mentioning that Langat’s body was found hanging from the verandah roof. Langat, who taught in Trans Mara, Narok County, had been spending time with his girlfriend, a student at Bomet Central TTI. However, he did not sleep with her that night for unknown reasons.
According to Tanui, Langat’s girlfriend, known as Sharon, was the one who discovered the tragic scene and alerted the authorities. The circumstances leading to Langat’s decision to end his life remain unclear, although an unverified Facebook post attributed to him hinted at personal struggles in his love life.

In the post, Langat expressed gratitude to his family for their support and reminisced about positive experiences with his students. The police from Silibwet station responded swiftly, moving Langat’s body to Longisa hospital mortuary for further investigation.
