The 2023 KCSE Examination Timetable.
The Kenya National Examination Council has unveiled a timetable for KCSE examinations. The timetable acts as a guideline for the forthcoming KCSE examinations.
For candidates and teachers, the provision of this timetable indicates that the examination period is now here.
Unlike previous examinations, this year’s KCSE examinations will comprise of two sessions. One in the morning and another in the afternoon. The morning session will begin at 8:00 am while the afternoon session will begin at 2:00 pm.
According to the schedule, examination rehearsal was conducted today Thursday, October 19th.
Oral tests for French, German, Arabic, and Kenyan Sign Language will take place on Monday 23rd October 2023. During this sessions, every student will have 15 minutes to complete the test.
Other papers will take place between Wednesday 23rd October to Friday 24th November.

Examination Guidelines
KNEC has put in place strict regulations to direct the conduct of candidates, teachers and other stakeholders. According to the council, it is the responsibility of the teachers to ensure that candidates read and comprehend examination instructions and guidelines. Teachers should create awareness among students on the penalties of examination cheating.
According to KNEC, students should refrain from carrying any prohibited materials into the examination room.

Prohibited examination materials include books, notes, and any other material not provided by the council that compromises the integrity of the examinations. The council clearly articulates the penalties of examination irregularities and provides a fair opportunity for all candidates to demonstrate their knowledge and skills.
Examination Irregularity Penalties
According to the KNEC Act No. 29 of 2012, when a candidate engages in examination irregularity during a given paper, the results of that entire subject are cancelled. Consequently the student will not receive their final grade and will instead receive a Y.
In instances where there are rampant cases of examination irregularities within an examination center, the examination results for the entire center will be cancelled.
KNEC has expressed its commitment to administer the KCSE 2023 examinations in a manner that that promotes exam integrity and provides every candidate with an opportunity to showcase their knowledge and skills.
