Schools Fully Prepared for Upcoming National Examinations
On Friday, primary schools nationwide concluded the final phase of preparations for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and the inaugural Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), both commencing on Monday.
Teachers and students express their readiness and effective candidate preparation. School administrators attribute this readiness to the restored academic calendar earlier this year, allowing ample time to prepare students for the examinations.
In Nandi County, schools like St. Mathews Septonok, Bishop Muge Memorial School, and Nandi Hills Primary reported more candidates than the previous year. They noted that they were under significant pressure in the last two academic calendars due to disruptions caused by COVID-19 but completed the syllabus this year. One school, St. Mathews Septonok, registered a record 157 KCPE candidates, the highest in its history, and 134 KPSEA candidates. Other schools, like Bishop Muge Memorial School, are optimistic about improving their candidates’ mean scores.

In Nyanza, government officials have warned businesses and residents, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a conducive examination environment. Migori County Commissioner David Gitonga stated that entertainment venues and discos would be closed, and action will be taken against owners for creating noise disturbances during the national examination period.
