Police Officer Detained for Abandoning KCPE Duty to Engage in Drinking.
Police arrested an officer manning an examination center on Monday for abandoning his duty station in Nakuru County to join locals in drinking.
The police report states that the Center Manager, Elijah Biwott, reported the officer’s absence from the center just minutes before the students began their examinations.
The security team in Molo, under the directions of the Mariashoni Officer Commanding Station, made their way to the institution and was able to locate the said police officer sleeping in one of the rooms in the institution in a drunken state.
Immediately, the security team took action and disarmed the officer. They then assigned another officer to take over as the students took their English composition papers.
According to investigations, the officer left his duty station and joined the locals in alcohol consumption. After that, one of the teachers in the institution noticed his state and asked him to nap at his house before his arrest.
The officer is currently held at Elburgon Police Station as investigations are underway.

According to the hospital administrator, Mr. Mathew Sang, the girl undertook her mathematics paper from the health institution.
In response to the unfortunate incident, the KUPPET Kericho branch secretary has strongly denounced it, stating that they will hold those responsible accountable.
Echoing her sentiments, her KNUT counterpart, Ann Cheruiyot, argues that with societal advancements, it is unfortunate that sex predators still exist and are responsible for the high rate of girls dropping out of school.
Rotich indicates that school-going children of both genders require protection from individuals whose main aim is exploiting them.
In addition, Cheruiyot reiterated the need for sensitizing young children on the shortcomings of engaging in early sexual activity.
