The Nyamira County Professional Association, led by Dr. Jeriah Moraa, has endorsed the decision to establish Nyamira State University at Kiabonyoru Secondary School. Dr. Moraa emphasized that Kiabonyoru’s strategic location and available resources make it the perfect site for Nyamira State University. Moraa highlighted the importance of community support, urging locals to focus on contributing positively to the university’s establishment, rather than opposing it.

While some individuals, including West Mugirango MP Steve Mogaka, proposed that the university be built at Senator John Kebaso Secondary School due to its proximity to Nyamira town and its access to water, healthcare facilities, security, and road networks, the professional association stands firm in its support of Kiabonyoru. They believe that Kiabonyoru offers a unique opportunity for the university to grow into a major academic hub that will serve the region for generations to come.
