To prevent the entry of these prohibited materials into the examination centers, the commission has also imposed restrictions on other materials such as handbags, and backpacks. This is because they can be used to smuggle the prohibited gadgets and materials into the examination centers.
The council has also restricted the use of printed materials irrespective of their relevance. It has further advised candidates to avoid carrying such materials to examination centers.
In contrast to previous sessions, candidates with body art, including tattoos, must now declare them. Consequently no wristwatch will be allowed in an examination room.
To guarantee the integrity of the national examinations, students are now not allowed to use programmable calculators.
These new policies are timely since candidates are making the final preparations to sit for their KCPE and KCSE examinations.
