Julius Ogamba: Education CS Nominee Declares Wealth of Ksh.790M.
Julius Migos Ogamba, the nominee for Education Cabinet Secretary (CS), has declared his net worth at Ksh.790 million. During his vetting by the National Assembly Committee on Appointments, the Senior Advocate attributed his substantial wealth to his involvement in agriculture, land ownership, motor vehicles, and his law firm.
Ogamba elaborated on his assets, mentioning his tea farm, trees, and various farm equipment. He stated, “I am worth Ksh.790 million, comprising largely of land, tea, trees, vehicles, farm equipment, and income from my law firm.” Ogamba has had a notable career as the former Chairperson of the Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen) and is a seasoned Advocate with over 25 years of experience at Migos Ogamba & Waudo Advocates.

If confirmed, Ogamba will succeed Ezekiel Machogu, who has been the Education CS since 2022. Machogu, during his own vetting, disclosed a net worth of Ksh.590 million, which he amassed through land acquisitions and ownership of residential buildings and luxury vehicles. Machogu detailed his assets, including buildings in various Nairobi locations such as Jogoo Road, Pangani, Milimani, Kileleshwa, and near Yaya Centre. Additionally, he owns an apartment in Mombasa’s Shanzu area, a plot of land in Kisii town, and 30 acres of land in Kisii. His vehicle collection includes a Mercedes Benz and a Toyota V8.
