During a meeting at his official residence, Gachagua directed the formation of a technical team to oversee the implementation of recommendations from the Presidential Working Party on Education Reforms (PWPER) within a week. This move is expected to create a unified approach and ensure a smooth transition in the sector.
The Working Party’s report recommended changes that would shift certain responsibilities from TSC to the Education Ministry, leading to tensions between the two entities. However, Gachagua stressed the need for collaboration to successfully implement these reforms and achieve positive outcomes.

The Ministry of Education, led by Ezekiel Machogu, expressed its commitment to working closely with TSC to address concerns and facilitate the reforms effectively. Machogu highlighted the importance of coordination and cooperation in delivering the required changes and aligning education policies with broader development goals.
Meanwhile, TSC has raised objections to some of the recommendations, citing potential impacts on its constitutional powers and independence. They are calling for legal amendments before implementing the PWPER recommendations to address these concerns.
In summary, Gachagua’s intervention aims to foster collaboration, address conflicts, and ensure a smooth implementation of reforms in the education sector for the benefit of all stakeholders involved.
