Enhanced Security Ahead of National Examinations.
In preparation for the upcoming national examinations, the government has deployed over 60,000 security personnel nationwide. The Interior Ministry, in a statement released on Saturday, October 28, announced a joint effort by the National Police Service (NPS) and the National Government to mobilize these security officials. Their primary objective is to safeguard the integrity of the national exams.
Interior PS Raymond Omollo emphasized, “The government has deployed at least 60,000 security personnel across the country to secure the national examination centers.” These security personnel will strategically position themselves at every examination center, where they will supervise the management of examination materials and guarantee the safety of students during the testing period.
The 60,000 security personnel, according to Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo, will cover both primary and secondary schools. The government has established command and communication centers at both national and regional levels to enhance their operational efficiency. These centers will facilitate real-time monitoring and supervision of the entire examination process.

To address the critical issue of potential exam leakages, PS Omollo has disclosed that “Security personnel will man all examination containers located at NGAO offices round the clock.” Implementing this stringent security measure will minimize the risk of unauthorized access to examination materials.
Furthermore, all students and stakeholders have been issued a stern warning by PS Omollo to adhere to the established examination rules and guidelines strictly. Non-compliance will result in legal consequences, underscoring the government’s commitment to upholding the integrity of the examination process.
This year, a substantial number of candidates, exceeding 3.5 million in total, will take their examinations from October 30 to November 24. Among these candidates, 1.4 million will be sitting for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Examinations (KCPE), while 903,260 candidates will take the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examinations (KCSE). Additionally, 1.2 million students are expected to participate in the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA).
