21 Kipkelion East JSS Schools Receive Ksh 16.7 Million.
In Kipkelion East Constituency, 21 Junior Secondary Schools (JSS) will soon enjoy new classrooms thanks to the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF). The area Member of Parliament, Dr. Joseph Cherorot, announced a substantial investment of Ksh 16.7 million to construct these classrooms, aiming to enhance the learning environment for JSS students and teachers.
Dr. Cherorot proudly shared this news during the launch of a multi-purpose hall at Chesinende Secondary School. He emphasized the positive impact of this initiative, highlighting that each school would receive Ksh 1.2 million. Of this amount, Ksh 1 million will go towards classroom construction, while the remaining Ksh 200,000 will be used to purchase desks and chairs.
Moreover, the NG-CDF has allocated Ksh 17.7 million for the construction of multi-purpose halls in various schools. For instance, Chebewor Secondary School will receive Ksh 4.5 million, Baraka Secondary School Ksh 4 million, and Finch School Ksh 3.8 million. These halls will support diverse activities such as indoor games, meetings, prayers, and school ceremonies.

Dr. Cherorot criticized the courts’ attempts to halt NG-CDF operations, stressing the fund’s significant benefits to society. He argued that removing the NG-CDF would hinder progress in various sectors, particularly education.
Additionally, at Londiani Girls Secondary School, the Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Kiprono Rono, joined Dr. Cherorot to address the need for a new dormitory. The dormitory, with a capacity for 600 students, aims to reduce congestion and replace temporary structures. Dr. Rono promised support for constructing at least ten staff houses, which would improve teacher-student interaction and management.

Dr. Rono also mentioned the ongoing efforts to complete the ultra-modern multi-purpose hall at Londiani Girls Secondary School. The remaining work includes installing doors, window panes, and painting the main hall, conference rooms, and staff offices. The kitchen, bakery, and stores have already been completed.
Beyond infrastructure, Dr. Rono emphasized the importance of investing in teachers’ professional development. He urged schools, with parental support, to motivate teachers through educational excursions, training retreats, and rewards.
This substantial investment in Kipkelion East Constituency signifies a promising future for its educational institutions. By improving facilities and resources, the NG-CDF aims to create a conducive learning environment, ultimately enhancing the quality of education for all students.
